Bethesda eBay Consignment Shop
The other day I was desperate to ship off a birthday gift- and I popped into Drop & Ship (8020 Norfolk Avenue), where you can ship things via FedEx, DHL, etc. There were some pretty cool things in the shop and after a conversation with the President and owner, Davis Kiyonaga, I learned that it was also an eBay consignment and shipping center.
So, everyone has heard of eBay before. But not everyone is well versed in the ways of doing business on eBay. That’s where Drop & Ship comes in handy. For starters, they’ll help you sell anything valued at over $100 (that’s their minimum).
They will provide a free appraisal for any item as long as you can provide specifics and/or a picture. You pay no eBay or PayPal fees. They can arrange for item pick up (for a fee). And best of all, they arrange for and pay for shipping. They make their money by taking a fee for each sale ranging from 25-45% depending on the cost of the item. Consignment shops usually charge a 50% fee, so it’s a pretty good deal in comparison.
For more information give Davis Kiyonaga a call at 301/951-0771 or e-mail him at [email protected]
Now, go clean out that attic!
East Bethesda MD 20814 Homes for Sale 5/27/11
Update for 5/27/2011: This week there is not a single new listing. We have 2 under contract and 3 townhouses have had price reductions.
All the homes in this article are currently for sale within East Bethesda. The top of the list features the newest listings, while the bottom showcases those that have been on the market for quite some time. I’ll be updating this post every Friday, so be sure to check back to see what’s new, what’s gone, & what might be coming (and check out the date up top… if it’s not current, neither is this information!). I’ve lived in East Bethesda for over 15 years. I’ve sold real estate in East Bethesda for over 11 years. It’s a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of two metro stops AND downtown Bethesda. While all of this information is available to you on the various search engines, I’ve taken the time to inject my opinion on the condition, pricing, and likelihood of each property selling… or not. I hope you’ll give me a call if you have any questions. I have loved living here over the years, and I want to share it with other enthusiastic people!

Bethesda MD 20817 Market Analysis/1Q 2011
Back in 2010 I was the habit of posting Bethesda 20817 real estate market analysis on a monthly basis …but I found it wasn’t necessarily indicative of the market we were experiencing at the time. One large house could really skew the numbers (and often did), as could a flurry of snow flakes. So, I decided to take it back a notch and post these findings on a quarterly basis. I think you’ll find that it represents area market trends more accurately.
So, what can we glean from these Bethesda 20817 numbers?
- For starters, about 25% more homes sold in the last quarter of 2010 compared to the 1st quarter of 2011. I blame this on the slow Spring start off.
- The average sales price for the first quarter this year Read the rest of this entry »

Pave Paradise?
I love all the green to be found in Montgomery County. It’s a lush, beautiful part of the world. So, when some schmuck comes along and paves over his/her entire front yard, I can get a little testy. I decided to look into the zoning.
In residential neighborhoods (R-200, R-150 & R-90), County residents can pave no more than 30% of their front yards OR 320 square feet… which ever is greater. In R-40 & R-60 neighborhoods the limit is 35%. On major streets you can go just crazy and pave up to 50% of your front yard. No more than one vehicle can be parked for every 160 square feet of paved surface.
If you managed to get in all of your paving before October 2010 you do not have to remove it, as long as the area is not increased. However, occupants must comply with the new parking limitations effective October 2011.
How does one enforce the laws? Paving and off-street parking issues are the responsibility of the Department of Permitting Services. Unregistered and inoperable vehicle complaints are handled by the Department of Housing and Community Affairs. On-street parking complaints go to the Police Department.
Questions? Call the Montgomery County Customer Service Center at 311 (within county) or 240/777-0311 (when calling from outside of the County).
