East Bethesda MD 20814 Homes for Sale 6/15/12

Update for 6/15/2012. I’m heading out of town a day early… so I hope this is accurate! 3 new listings, none under contract (though a few are threatening as of this writing), and 1 price drop.
All the homes in this article are currently for sale within East Bethesda. The top of the list features the newest listings, while the bottom showcases those that have been on the market for quite some time. I’ll be updating this post every Friday, so be sure to check back to see what’s new, what’s gone, & what might be coming (and check out the date up top… if it’s not current, neither is this information!). I’ve lived in East Bethesda for over 17 years. I’ve sold real estate in East Bethesda for over 12 years. It’s a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of two metro stops AND downtown Bethesda. While all of this information is available to you on the various search engines, I’ve taken the time to inject my opinion on the condition, pricing, and likelihood of each property selling… or not. Relatively newish construction (2005?). I got to see it last time it was on the market, but, alas, not this time around. I tried. On-line pictures improve upon the memory. 5BR/3.5 BA. Close to downtown. Days on Market: 2

Wonderful outdoor retreat with a corner view of the neighborhood. 3BR/1.25BA. Easy walk-to-everything location. Pretty sunroom. Great paint colors throughout. Renovated full bath. Open kitchen. Unfinished basement. Wrap-around porch and pergola. Charm galore. Days on Market: 2
4611 Chase Avenue, $1,695,000
New construction on a very large lot. 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Quick 10-minute walk to metro and downtown Bethesda. Little park just down the block. Pizza, computer help, taekwondo and CVS within spitting distance. Days on Market: 14
4601 Cheltenham Drive, $824,900
Handsome brick colonial in a fabulous walk-to-everything location. 3BR/1FB upstairs. Another MBR suite on the first floor with an extra full bath and vanity area. Nice floors. Red dining room much better in person. 1970′s kitchen with lots of possibilities. Pretty landscaping. Days on Market:10
8611 Lynbrook Drive, $1,099,000
Lots of new stuff in this renovated house with smart home features: new kitchen, HVAC, water heater, gas generator, windows, doors, W/D and more. 3BR/2FB upstairs. 4BR/3.5BA total. Call me crazy, but I think it’s a lot of money for a small master bedroom, choppy rooms, and a tiny back yard, especially given the competition. Time will tell. Pretty front porch. Nice wood floors. Days on Market: 14
4314 Kentbury Drive, $973,000
4BR/3.5BA colonial on a large lot (9,119 s.f.). It’s got a neat back addition with granite, breakfast bar, etc. Pretty deck. Nice yard. Don’t love the parquet flooring, but that’s just a personal thing. 3BR/2FB up. Good space. Doesn’t appear to back to proposed Purple line… but close. Recent $25K price drop. Days on Market: 35
4613 West Virginia Avenue, $1,099,900
Not sure why this one is back on the market. It just sold in December ’11. That said, it’s a lovely house with 5BR/3.5BA. Vaulted ceiling in the family room, wooden floors, open kitchen. 2 fireplaces. Detached garage. Pretty front porch and a back deck. 1.5 blocks to Wisconsin. Luscious landscaping. Days on Market: 49
4608 West Virginia Avenue, $899,000
Handsome bungalow with a lovely front porch, inviting living room with a fireplace, good looking hardwood floors and a glorious garden. Sits on a double lot, not that this does anyone much good, minus the builders. Large, almost separate 2-level addition in the back of the house – connected at the kitchen. Adds value to the property, but isn’t easily incorporated into the rest of the house. Buyer specific. Days on Market: 64
4422 Rosedale Avenue, $1,399,000
5 BR/4.5BA. New construction/older house to be torn down. On one of the smaller lots, so probably not much of a yard. 1-car garage. Days on Market: 70
4524 Windsor Lane, $1,470,463
Strange little price tag on this puppy. I always wonder why they do that? Superstition? Lucky number? Who knows. New construction, which has yet to start. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. Multiple floor plans available. Days on Market: 118
