East Bethesda MD 20814 Homes for Sale 6/1/12
Update for 6/1/2012… Is the spring market winding down? I’m sensing a slight turn. 3 new listings, 1 under contract, and 1 price drop.
All the homes in this article are currently for sale within East Bethesda. The top of the list features the newest listings, while the bottom showcases those that have been on the market for quite some time. I’ll be updating this post every Friday, so be sure to check back to see what’s new, what’s gone, & what might be coming (and check out the date up top… if it’s not current, neither is this information!). I’ve lived in East Bethesda for over 17 years. I’ve sold real estate in East Bethesda for over 12 years. It’s a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of two metro stops AND downtown Bethesda. While all of this information is available to you on the various search engines, I’ve taken the time to inject my opinion on the condition, pricing, and likelihood of each property selling… or not. Lots of new stuff in this renovated house with smart home features: new kitchen, HVAC, water heater, gas generator, windows, doors, W/D and more. 3BR/2FB upstairs. 4BR/3.5BA total. Call me crazy, but I think it’s a lot of money for a small master bedroom, choppy rooms, and a tiny back yard, especially given the competition. Time will tell. Pretty front porch. Nice wood floors. Days on Market: 0
7912 Chelton Road, $1,495,000
6 bedrooms and 5.5 baths to be found in this handsome home on a really convenient block in Bethesda. Gourmet kitchen. Pretty landscaping. 3rd floor perch. 1.5 blocks to the park. A short walk to metro. And another 1.5 blocks to BCC high school. Doesn’t get much more convenient than that. Days on Market: 3
7902 Pearl Street, $825,000
I had this listing last time it sold. Lovely brick cape with a fairly rare master bath (for an older home). All 3 bedrooms are large. Updated kitchen. Sunny breakfast room. Finished basement with another full bath. Hardwood floors and wood burning fireplace. Convenient to just about everything. Green, fenced back yard. Days on Market: 4
4556 South Chelsea Lane, $629,900
Cute, cute, cute! Lovely little cape on a shady street. Pretty wood flooring, larger than expected master bedroom, screened porch, and a fun finished 2nd floor. Basement and kitchen on the small side, but perfectly adequate. Nicely priced. Days on Market: 8
4314 Kentbury Drive, $998,000
4BR/3.5BA colonial on a large lot (9,119 s.f.). It’s got a neat back addition with granite, breakfast bar, etc. Pretty deck. Nice yard. Don’t love the parquet flooring, but that’s just a personal thing. 3BR/2FB up. Good space. Doesn’t appear to back to proposed Purple line… but close. Days on Market: 21
8614 Lynbrook Drive, $834,900
4BR/2FB on the 2nd floor, and a half bath on both the 1st floor and the basement. Thoughtfully executed renovation/addition (2006). Silestone in the kitchen. Open floor plan. Mud room. Office. Hardwood floors, and a detached garage. Unfinished basement. Short walk to NIH Metro. Recent $15K price reduction. Days on Market: 35
4613 West Virginia Avenue, $1,149,900
Not sure why this one is back on the market. It just sold in December ’11. That said, it’s a lovely house with 5BR/3.5BA. Vaulted ceiling in the family room, wooden floors, open kitchen. 2 fireplaces. Detached garage. Pretty front porch and a back deck. 1.5 blocks to Wisconsin. Luscious landscaping. Recent price drop of $22K. Days on Market: 35
4608 West Virginia Avenue, $899,000
Handsome bungalow with a lovely front porch, inviting living room with a fireplace, good looking hardwood floors and a glorious garden. Sits on a double lot, not that this does anyone much good, minus the builders. Large, almost separate 2-level addition in the back of the house – connected at the kitchen. Adds value to the property, but isn’t easily incorporated into the rest of the house. Buyer specific. Recent $30K price drop. Days on Market: 50
4422 Rosedale Avenue, $1,399,000
5 BR/4.5BA. New construction/older house to be torn down. On one of the smaller lots, so probably not much of a yard. 1-car garage. Days on Market: 56
4524 Windsor Lane, $1,470,463
Strange little price tag on this puppy. I always wonder why they do that? Superstition? Lucky number? Who knows. New construction, which has yet to start. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. Multiple floor plans available. Days on Market: 104
