said on January 30th, 2015 filed under: Bethesda, Homes for Sale

Lynbrook ParkUpdate for 1/30/15. No new listings. No price drops.

All the homes in this article are currently for sale within East Bethesda. The top of the list features the newest listings, while the bottom showcases those that have been on the market for quite some time. I’ll be updating this post every Friday, so be sure to check back to see what’s new, what’s gone, & what might be coming (and check out the date up top… if it’s not current, neither is this information!). I’ve lived in East Bethesda for over 18 years. I’ve sold real estate in East Bethesda for over 15 years. It’s a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of Bethesda Metro AND NIH/Walter Reed. While all of this information is available to you on the various search engines (and please keep in mind that these are not all of my own listings), I’ve taken the time to inject my opinion on the condition, pricing, and likelihood of each property selling… or not. I hope you’ll give me a call if you have any questions. I have loved living here over the years, and I want to share it with other enthusiastic people!

Gas Prices in Bethesda Chevy Chase

said on January 26th, 2015 filed under: Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Just For Fun

I just discovered a new website that posts local gas prices.  Yahoo! Granted, we’re all saving a bundle on gas these days. But the time will come when they inch up into the stratosphere again, and this might just come in handy.  This is what you can expect when you go to the site:

gas prices Bethesda Chevy Chase

Looks like Giant on Connecticut Avenue is the big winner. Click local gas prices for an update, or to zero in on another location.

The Evers & Co. December 2014 Real Estate Report

said on January 14th, 2015 filed under: State of the Market

Little FallsThere were significant bright spots in the December report for the close-in Metro area. Montgomery Country and Northern Virginia showed an increase of 13.5% in dollar volume of sales over last December, and the District of Columbia had a big 10.4% increase in price. The fact that these numbers were as high as they were this December is a bullish sign for the coming year. As for the greater Metro area, MRIS reported that prices for the greater Metro area are now within 2% of what they were at the area’s market peak in 2007.

On top of all of this positive news, mortgage rates are at one of their lowest points in history. Any buyers who have been hesitating should buy now while rates are low and before the spring rush starts. And, sellers can rest assured that they aren’t “leaving any money on the table” when we are within 2% of our all-time high price level in the Metro area.

*Statistics are taken from the MRIS (Metropolitan Regional Information System) for three areas: Washington, D.C.; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Fairfax County, Arlington and Alexandria in Northern Virginia.

Best Pizza Delivery in Bethesda Chevy Chase

said on January 8th, 2015 filed under: Just For Fun

Slice Of PizzaDisclaimer… I gathered this information off of the BCC-Community List Serve, so the pizza restaurants touted in this article are the collective effort of all those who bothered to respond.  I don’t have a horse in the race (though I do like Vace’s… worth picking it up). Read on to discover the best pizza delivery in Bethesda – Chevy Chase:

Can’t forget Mama Lucia, Broadway and Giuseppe’s. In Rockville and Potomac. No delivery but as close to NY as you can find. Also Sugo at Park Potomac.

Welcome to a pizza wasteland. Being from New Jersey (awesome pizza) and then Chicago (oh that deep dish pizza!) we have high standards and I would have to say it is all pretty bad in the delivery department. You can get decent pick up at Continental Pizza on Connecticut Ave for basic pizza, Mia’s pizza in Bethesda (trendy stuff) and Frankly Pizza (wood fire oven pizza and very good). Pacci’s in Capital View neighborhood and Three Brothers in Rockville also good. Good luck.

Manny and Olga’s. you can order online.

Stromboli’s in Bethesda south of Farm Woman’s Market on Wisconsin. They are online and they deliver. Not cheap, but good. They also have good white pizza with nice vegetable choices.  Read the rest of this entry »
